In reality we should call this a "hybrid gi", because we have incorporated improvements that enable this blue martial arts Gi, to be used for heavy sparring, Aiki Jutsu, light jiu jitsu, or even light judo. Regular karate Gi's are too light to do any real sparring with and will rip easily. Most heavy weight uniforms have great fabric, but are stitched incorrectly and will rip easily at the seams. Our 12oz Blue martial arts gi's feature a high quality 12oz 100% Brushed Cotton fabric with reinforced seams, quilted lapels (to make for more difficult grabbing by your opponent), and special piping at the sides (above the hips) where most other uniforms rip apart easily. Our special piping allows you to grap and pull vigorously as you grapple. Our "Middle-Weight" 12oz uniform is the same weight as our competitor's "Heavy-Weight" uniform. This blend of quality and economy should be easily seen by any buyer. Middle-Weight 12oz Gi offer increased strength which makes it a better option than lightweight uniforms when doing heavy sparring, ground fighting, and techniques which involve pulling on the Gi.
